Purpose:

To deliver grain without establishing a price until a later date.

When To Use:

1. When prices are low.
2. When you do not have enough on-farm storage.
3. When you want to participate in the government price support program.

Advantages:

1. Allows for price and basis improvement.
2. Is insured to 100% by the Illinois Grain Insurance Fund.
3. Can be converted to a basis or GMP contract

Disadvantages:

1. Is a losing transaction in a downward or sideways market
2. Will always have a monthly charge.

Execution:

1. Contact Siemer Milling Co. to reserve storage space and confirm storage rates.
2. If you wish to have a warehouse receipt, notify Siemer.
