2011 Intensive Wheat Management Program

Siemer Milling Company (SMC) is committed to purchasing quality wheat for processing into food products. We have developed this program to encourage and reward the production of superior quality of Soft Red Winter wheat grown in the Southern Illinois region. Wheat grown under specific intensive management practices has milling and quality value in the food chain.

2. Quality Premium: Additional 5 cents per bushel if the following factors are met:

Less than 3.0% Damage

Falling Number > 325

Zero Sprout Damage

Vomotoxin less than 2.0 ppm (if tested)

Discounts

Grain delivered which has quality factors below #2 SRW will be subject to normal discounts as stated on the current SMC discount sheet. Discounted loads except dockage and moisture will not be eligible for the quality premium or test weight premium.

Pricing

Deferred pricing, forward price contracts, basis contracts, minimum price contracts and storage will be offered and based on market values at the time of contracting.

Requirements for the Program

1.

We require the use of Professional Wheat Consulting Service. Crop IMS and Opticrop are approved providers of these services. We have worked with both companies and have great confidence in their ability to add value to your wheat production. 

2.

Plant minimum of 25% from SMC’s recommended variety list.

3.

Wheat will be delivered to SMC at Teutopolis, Illinois or Montrose, Illinois and must meet milling quality specifications.

4.

Producer must use SMC recommended practices for treating and storing grain.

5.

Producer must provide bin samples at harvest and periodically as needed throughout the year. In the event of lower quality due to weather conditions, the producer must make a good faith effort to deliver grain to SMC.

6.

Producer will identify grain by variety upon delivery.

7.

SMC is contracting for food grade quality wheat. Any deception such as plugged loads, adulteration of grain or delivery of treated grain will result in termination of this contract.

8.

Entry deadline is December 15, 2010. Signed contracts must be returned on or before this date to be eligible.
