Directions to Siemer Milling Company in Teutopolis, Illinois

  • Siemer Milling Company is located in Teutopolis, Illinois on Highway 40, three miles east of Effingham.
  • All trucks must get a federal grade before being unloaded.
  • The Illinois Official Grain Inspection office is located on the west end of Teutopolis, at the Bulkmatic terminal on Harvester Street (across from the high school). All trucks should enter the parking lot using the north entrance and circle around the Bulkmatic building so the truck is facing north while being probed. After all samples are taken trucks will travel east on Route 40 to Green Street. Turn right on Green Street. A Siemer Milling Company employee will then direct you, which dump to go to.
  • When arriving in Teutopolis tune your CB radios to channel 16 to talk to a Siemer employee.

Folicur Label - Carl Bradley

Folicur received a full section 3 registration from the U.S. EPA earlier this week, and is registered for use on wheat in Illinois. Results of fungicide trials sponsored by the U.S. Wheat and Barley Scab Initiative across several universities and years have shown that Folicur is effective at reducing Fusarium head blight (scab) severity and at reducing associated mycotoxins in harvested grain. Illinois wheat growers now have several fungicide options for protecting against scab which include Folicur, Proline, and Caramba fungicides. In university trials, a mixture of Folicur and Proline (3 fl oz of each product or 4 fl oz of each product) has been very effective at reducing scab severity and mycotoxin levels as well, and a section 2(ee) recommendation for this mixture is available.

To check for the risk of scab in your area, go to the Fusarium Head Blight Risk Assessment Tool at: http://www.wheatscab.psu.edu/.
