This week marked the 139th year of operation for Siemer Milling Company! Since 1882 our company has been built on customer service and relationships with both producers and farmers alike.
We want to take this special time to recognize the efforts of those who came before us, and those who have helped move our company forward!
Siemer Milling Company, a family- and employee-owned company, began in 1882 in Teutopolis, IL. Our company was actually started under the name of Hope Mills, Uptmor & Siemer, Proprietors. The name change took place in 1906 when Joseph Siemer and his son, Clemens J bought out the Uptmor interests. Siemer Milling Company’s primary product is wheat flour milled to different specifications to be used in some of our favorite foods like cakes, biscuits, cookies, pretzels, and pasta!
Siemer Milling operates flour mills in Teutopolis, IL; Hopkinsville, KY; and West Harrison, IN. Altogether, we grind 25 million bushels of locally-grown wheat into about 750,000 tons of flour, bran, and wheat germ every year.
