Illinois Wheat Association Summer Events

The Illinois Wheat Association has lined up some excellent events this summer for wheat growers across the state. Mark your calendars for these three can’t-miss opportunities:

Wheat Plot Tour – May 21st. Kick off your summer by joining the IWA for their Wheat Plot Tour at the SIU Belleville Research Center on May 21st. With four tour groups starting at 9:00am, you’ll have plenty of chances to learn about the latest wheat varieties and production practices. Wheat Yield Contest – Deadline June 3rd Put your wheat crop to the test by entering the IWA Wheat Yield Contest! This friendly competition allows you to benchmark your yields against other top growers in the state. The entry deadline is June 3rd, so don’t delay. Summer Forum with SharkFarmer – August 1st Save the date for the must-attend IWA Summer Forum on August 1st featuring a keynote presentation from Rob Sharkey, aka The SharkFarmer. Sharkey is an Illinois grain farmer, owner of a whitetail deer hunting outfitter, podcast & radio show host, and host of multiple TV shows on RFD-TV and PBS. He’s sure to provide an entertaining and insightful presentation you won’t want to miss. Registration details are still to come, so watch the IWA website for the latest.
