Spending a day with us at Teutopolis last week was Melinda Farris, Executive Vice President of the International Association of Operative Millers (IAOM). Melinda has worked for IAOM for 13 years, and been the chief professional officer for 10. During her tenure the IAOM has greatly enhanced its training program, and become international in a big way, with significant membership in the Middle East and Africa, growing in Southeast Asia, and well-established in Latin America and, of course, in the U.S. and Canada. She is a dynamic administrator!
Her reason for being here was to review IAOM operations with our Dave Jansen (Plant Manager – Teutopolis), who was elected Treasurer this past spring, and is on track to be IAOM President in two years.
We are proud that our people are very involved in the leadership of IAOM: Red Tegeler is on the Technical Committee (and is a Past President); Sunil Maheshwari is on the Education and the Global Strategies Committees; and Curt Anderson is on the Food Protection Committee. Also Kenny Stice (Tech Miller) is on the Exec. Committee of the Ohio Valley District, which encompasses all three of our mills.
